19-838RESOLUTION NO. 19.838 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR CITY DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR EXECUTIVE EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, the City of Menifee ("Git/) executive employees have updates to their compensation and benefits from time to time, in alignment with other City employees; including the Assistant City Manager, Building Official, City Clerk, Community Development Director, Community Services Director, Deputy City Manager, Economic Development Director, Police Chief, and Public Works Director (hereinafter collectively refened to as 'Directors"); and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to grant an annual cost of living adjustment (COLA) to Directors salaries in the amount of four percent (47o) to base pay effective July 1, 2019; a COLA in the amount of three percent (3%) effective July 1, 2020; and a COLA of the lower of either 3% or the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers CPI-W from March to March, which shall not be less than zero percent if the CPI comparison is negative; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to increase to the contribution to Directors cafeteria accounts to $1,750 per month for employee plus one or family, effective the month of resolution adoption; $1 ,800 per month effective January 1, 2O2Oi and $1 ,850 per month effective January 1 , 2021. The cafeteria account can be used for payment of employee's medical insurance premium related to a City sponsored medical, dental and vision plans, and associated benefits offered by the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to increase to the life insurance coverage to $100,000 from $50,000 for Directors; and WHEREAS, the Directors will be entitled to the cost of living adjustments and other benefits otheMise made available to the Menifee City Employees Association, Mid-Management Unit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE lT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Menifee, California as follows: Section 1.That the City Council approves an annual cost of living adjustment (COLA) to Directors salaries in the amount of four percent (4%) to base pay effective July 1 , 2019; a COLA in the amount of three percent (3%) effective July 1, 2020; and a COLA of the lower of either 3% or the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers CPI-W from March to March, which shall not be less than zero percent if the CPI comparison is negative.
