I’m a substitute teacher for Bell Mountain and used live across the street at the Enclave apartments.
There is definitely poor service in the area and it would be nice to have better service.
Our hands are tied because federal law is gong to supersede most action taken at the lower level. We can’t
reach any threshold that would allow us to supersede a favorable federal level ruling.
In order to truely address this , citizens need to organize and overturn federal law . It’s the only way.
We have heard various complaints from residents about what a clock tower would do .
We heard many worries , going down a slippery slope , like the world is going to end. We heard that people are
going to break in and commit suicide, when there thousands of other fashions people could commit that, if they
truly wanted to.
People said we would lose the firework show and it would be impeded, but the Cal Fire studied it and said it
wouldn’t.
I heard, although I can not confirm, the fireworks were shot higher in the air to accommodate the parking only
situation. If true, then a clock tower is an obstacle that can be conquered.
People came out during COVID 19 , so truly even with the risk of life and death , people aren’t going to give up
celebrating their liberties , let alone let a clock tower impede them.
All this and the council denied future non-taxpayer revenue to the city from the AT&T lease agreement. That
revenue could have paid for the firework show itself .
So as of today, we have lost non taxpayer revenue from the lease agreement , have poor service cell phone
service , we are trying to supersede the federal government , and we have a looming court battle to take on a
corporation valued at 300 billion dollars with AT&T.
We should have approved the lease and brought in the revenue .
