Dear Ms. Manwaring,
Please read the following into the public record during agenda item 11.5 on June 17 City Council meeting:
There has been a serious need for a traffic signal to be installed on Antelope Road at the entrance to the the
college for many years.
Over the years there have been numerous accidents at this location‐‐one of my students was in a coma for
three months and is permanently disabled as she was hit by a car when she was leaving the campus. We have
over 15,000 students on the Menifee campus, most of them inexperienced drivers. It is unsafe. It is extremely
difficult to see traffic when exiting the campus, and I fear that there will be a fatality if there is no traffic light
installed.
I have spoken with Mayor Zimmerman about this, and shared my concern about student and staff safety
exiting the parking lot.
Please consider adding this signal to the list of Capital Improvements to be funded in the 2020/21 fiscal year
budget.
Thank you,
Dr. Susan Winslow
