2020-06-03 City Council Item No. 11.2 Public Comment - Manion Attachment Regular MEETING - Additional Meeting Materials
June 1, 2020
Dear Ms. Manwaring,
Regarding June 3, 2020 City Council meeting Agenda item 11.2 (Legado Specific Plan).
We would like to submit the following "Public Comment" to be read by the Clerk, and recorded
into the meeting minutes during Agenda item 11.2
Hon. Mayor & Council members,
The Rotary Club of Menifee is pleased to see that the developer of the proposed Legado project is
including a Public Community Center as part of its development agreement.
Such a facility would be an asset to the many service organizations like ours that need a place to
meet, host events, and store our equipment.
Over the years we have held our weekly meetings in various restaurants that have been gracious
to allow us to set up equipment and conduct business.
We have expressed to the Mayor and Council members our desire to have a location of our own
so we can serve the community more efficiently.
Therefore, we ask that the facility be designed to accommodate the many non-profit
organizations that need a lockable space of their own.
I have been at seval meeting over the last year or better where the developer has presented
a beautiful rendoring of the new facility. I was understand the understanding that these
rooms would be part of the building. So I would greatly appricate these rooms and storage.
Rotary Club of Menifee and Menifee Santa's Workshop do spend a lot of meeting times in
order to better serve our Commuity.
Thank you for the opportunity to make this request. We appreciate Newport Pacific Land for
listening to our needs and including the Community Center in its project.
Sincerely,
Debbi Manion, President, Rotary Club of Menifee
