We have received your Notice of Intent to Adopt and Addendum to the City of Menifee General Plan Environmental Impact Report. The identified location is within the Territory of the Luiseño people, and is also within Rincon’s specific area of Historic interest. Embedded in the Luiseño territory are Rincon’s history, culture and identity. From the provided documents we understand that the proposed changes are “policy-related, and would not result in physical impacts” and not affect tribal cultural resources. We have therefore no further comments at this moment. The Rincon Band reserves its right to continue to fully participate in the environmental review process and to review and submit additional information during the public review process. If you have additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office at your convenience at (760) 297-2635 or via electronic mail at cmadrigal@rincon-nsn.gov. We look forward to working together to protect and preserve our cultural assets. Sincerely, Cheryl Madrigal Tribal Historic Preservation Officer Cultural Resources Manager
