•July 17, 2019 -A future agenda item was requested to
discuss quarterly meetings with School Board
•Councilmember Sobek asked for a discussion to
take place regarding meeting regularly with School
District counterparts

•Menifee Union School District
•Perris Union High School District
•Romoland School District
•Santa Rosa Academy
•Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC)

•Meetings w/School Board members
•Meetings w/Superintendents
•Committee
•Ad Hoc (serves a limited or single purpose, that is not perpetual, and that will be dissolved once its specific task is completed)

Meeting Types
•City’s Public Safety Committee meets once every month and School District Monthly Reports are requested from Menifee Union and Romoland School Districts
•City presentations, or executive meetings with directors and leadership from each group are held on a quarterly basis
•Staff recently presented updates at the Romoland School District and Menifee Union School District
•Staff recently met with the Perris Union High School District
•Most recent quarterly group meeting with MSJC was held January 9
•Community Services holds a Community Partners meeting and meeting with MSJC bi-monthly
Current Updates
•Corona -Previously had a monthly Joint School
Committee consisting of two Council members, two
School Board members, and directors from both the
school and the City (dissolved)
•In addition, 2 Council members, 2 School Board members,
school superintendent and City Manager would meet
quarterly in an informal lunch setting (dissolved)
•Hemet -Anticipating holding first City Council/School
Board meeting in February; meetings will be considered
special meetings and will include all Council members
and all School Board members
Other Cities
•Lake Elsinore -Subcommittee consisting of two
Council members that meet bi-monthly with School
Board members
•Perris –Mayor Pro Tem and 1 other Council member
are members of the School District Liaison
Subcommittee and meet as needed
•Mayor meets monthly with School District
Superintendent individually
Other Cities
•The following cities currently do not have a
committee/Council members that meet regularly
with School Board members:
•Murrieta
•San Jacinto
•Temecula
