•Staff began to explore sign program on certain corridors of City
•Staff explored costs of gateway signage in the City (overpass/interchange)
•Resulted in realizing the need for a Comprehensive Signage Program
•June 03, 2020, Council Approved agreement with RSM to develop Citywide
Signage Program

•Place Making: the practice of creating or enhancing a community’s assets
to improve its overall attractiveness and livability.
•Placemaking is the design activity that uses communications to create
experiences that connect people to place.
•Identity design creates a strong sense of “you are here”by
differentiating a place or space from others using graphic elements such
as type, color, pattern, video and motion.

Master Plans •General Plan Community-Image CD-1-Policies:
•CD-1.1: Enhance the city's identity using distinct city
graphics, in the design of gateways, street signs, city
signage, public facilities and public gathering spaces,
and other areas where appropriate.
•CD-1.4: Provide special landscaping and decorative
monument signage in order to highlight arrival and
departure from the city.
•Gateways were referenced from CD-1
•Parks Master Plan also references the General Plan and
emphasizes the need for adequate signage.
