2022-03-16 City Council Item No. 12.2 Citywide Signage Presentation Regular MEETING - Additional Meeting MaterialsCitywide Signage Program City Council Item 12.2 Background •Council Strategic Item-4.5 •Staff began to explore sign program on certain corridors of City •Staff explored costs of gateway signage in the City (overpass/interchange) •Resulted in realizing the need for a Comprehensive Signage Program •June 03, 2020, Council Approved agreement with RSM to develop Citywide Signage Program •Project Leads: •Community Development •Community Services •Economic Development •Public Works •Place Making: the practice of creating or enhancing a community’s assets to improve its overall attractiveness and livability. •Placemaking is the design activity that uses communications to create experiences that connect people to place. •Identity design creates a strong sense of “you are here”by differentiating a place or space from others using graphic elements such as type, color, pattern, video and motion.
