What is an ADU?
•ADU = Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
•An attached or detached residential accessory structure
on a residential lot that provides independent living
facilities for one or more persons
•Also known as: second unit, in-law unit, or granny flat

•Plans presented to more than 50 people who attended
•Substantial participation, questions and interest from
property owners
•Positive response and significant community interest in the
ADU Plans
•February 9, 2021 –Planning Commission unanimously
recommended City Council approval
Outreach
•The proposed Permit-Ready ADU Plans and ADU Guidebook are
informational tools to assist the public in obtaining permits for
construction of an ADU and are is exempt from CEQA per:
•CEQA Guidelines Section 15061.b.3 “Common Sense
Exemption”
Environmental Determination
1.Adopt a Resolution approving the Permit-Ready Accessory Dwelling Unit plan designs for fully code-compliant/City approved construction plans to be made available as an option for use by the public in obtaining ADU permits from the City.
