Associates, Inc. for the
Menifee Local Roadway Safety Plan

•Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) creates framework to
identify and analyze safety problems and recommend safety
improvements locally.
•Cities will be required to have an LRSP for eligibility to
apply for future Highway Safety Improvement Program
(HSIP) federal funding starting the next HSIP Cycle 11.
•The City was awarded with $90,000 in grant funds from
Caltrans to prepare the Menifee LRSP with local match
requirement of 10% of the total LRSP cost.
Background
•Preparation of the Menifee LRSP Includes:
•Develop priority criteria and priority area
•Identify top 10 high-risk corridor and top 20 intersections with
high fatality and sever injury rates
•Utilize the data to establish countermeasures and list of projects
to address safety needs
•Develop implementation strategy
•RFP 2022-3 for preparation of LRSP released September 2,
2021
•6 proposals received
•Three top-scoring firms invited to interview
