Employers Profitable) Business Walk
was held between late April and May
2021
•100 Menifee businesses were surveyed
after randomly being selected from the
Menifee business license list
•Volunteers from the Chamber and City
Staff surveyed businesses to measure
the State of Business in Menifee
•Due to COVID-19, surveys were taken
in-person, by phone, or virtual via
Zoom or email
KEY FINDINGS •81% of the businesses surveyed were
highly or somewhat confident that their
business would recover from the
pandemic.
•The other 16% of the businesses were
unsure due to the lasting impacts of the
pandemic.
•This has largely been caused by the
difficulty to hire staff due to additional
pandemic unemployment.
•As well as the uncertainty of the prolonged
guidelines and modifications to resume
business back to normal.
HIRING
•Three-quarters (75%) of
the surveys plan on
hiring/bringing back
50%-100% of their
employees.
•19% of businesses plan
on bringing back less
than 25% of their
employees; or they have
stated that they have
already hired back their
staff before survey was
taken.
•Integrating new technology and services such as online ordering and delivery, going virtual when possible, telecommuting
•Following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and taking precautionary measures make customers feel safe
•Making business decisions to quickly respond such as outdoor dining, reducing hours, and contactless transactions
•Taking advantage of financial assistance
•Health App for employee’s safety check
