I would like to know who I can talk with in regards to business that have public access not letting people use their bathrooms. Even if customer or client is paying money to their business. I know they have the covid excuse now but they were not letting people use their bathrooms before that. My late husband was ill for 8 years but was able to go with me to do chores like shopping and banking. It was hard and tedious for him but gave him exercise and challenge to get through normal living situations. One issue he had because of his disability was an urgent need to use a bathroom when he had to. I was so angry because he was older and had an obvious impairment due to strokes. In the Chase bank ,where we put our money to do business I had to beg to get the person in charge of the bank to ok his use of the facility. Also at the Community Cupboard,in the thrift shop that we enjoyed going to they had no bathroom access to anyone. It did not matter that we were right in front of them and they could see he would not vandalize anything and I could clean up any mess, which there never is for him. This is a cruel decision on the part of the people that are in charge of these places and I am sure I am not the only one with this concern as we have a very large elder community. We were spending our money and doing business with our money that they profit from yet would not allow us to use the bathroom. Even in an emergency. The most basic of needs. I would wish this problem on no one or their loved ones. But the inhuman treatment and lack of concern for an elder disabled person that has lived and worked in the community and a model citizen being treated this way should be experienced by some of these people and business to understand how cruel this is. Is there anyone I can talk to now that my husband has passed and I have time to address it for others in regards to this problem? Why is there wheelchair access, which we did not need, but if the disabled person cannot have access to their toilet,do they deserve to have their business? This needs to be addressed or I need to understand how this can be gotten away with. It is the most basic of public needs and courtesy. Please don't say covid because it was before covid. Please let me know who can help me get this changed in our community. Regards, Susan Schulz Public Comment -- Sent from Tohsoft.Mail for mobile
