Based on the July 1st start date for the new service, Department staff estimates
the service cost for this contract personnel addition to total $221,000. All costs
for this service will be recovered through Board-approved rates. County Counsel
has approved the Amendment as to form.
As with other recent modifications to law enforcement contract service levels,
staff is not recommending the creation of an additional position in the Sheriffs
Department to fulfill this contractual duty; rather, the Department is
recommending the use of a previously frozen position.
