RECOMMENDED MOTION:
That the Board of Supervisor Approve Resolution No. 2008-449 Dissolving the Menifee
Valley Municipal Advisory Council
BACKGROUND:
On June 3, 2008 the residents of the unincorporated area of Menifee Valley, Sun City,
Quail Valley and parts of Romoland voted in favor of incorporation. This was a historical event
for many of the area residents. The incorporation of the City of Menifee has replaced the need
for the Menifee Valley Municipal Advisory Council.

On motion of Supervisor Stone, seconded by Supervisor Ashley and duly carried by
unanimous vote, IT WAS ORDERED that the above matter is approved as recommended.

3 DISSOLVING THE MENIFEE VALLEY
4 MUNICIPAL ADVISORY COUNCIL
5 WHEREAS, the Menifee Valley Municipal Advisory Council (MAC) was created on
6 August 27, 1991, for the purpose of advising the Board of Supervisors on matters
7 including, but not limited to, public health, safety, welfare, public works and
8 planning, and
9 WHEREAS, for the past seventeen years the MAC has provided input to the board
to of Supervisor on numerous matters regarding the Menifee Valley community, and
11 WHEREAS, on June 3, 2008 the voters within the Menifee Valley community adopted
12 Measure F approving the proposed incorporation of the City of Menifee, and
13 WHEREAS, the creation of a city council to handle the affairs of the newly
14 incorporated City of Menifee serve as the municipal body to accede the functions of
15 the MAC, and
16 WHEREAS, Resolution 2005-148 Adopting Uniform Procedures for Advisory
17 Committees, Boards and Commissions, provides for the dissolution of an advisory
W committee no longer required for its original purpose.

UO 0 Riverside assembled in regular session on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, that the Menifee
