Meeting Minutes
March 11, 2014
1. Call to order and roll call
Chair John Denver called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. Present were: Chair John
Denver, Committee Member Greg August, City Manager Robert Johnson, Captain Mike
Judge, and various staff.

3. Minutes— February 11, 2014

4. Discussion of Existing Law Enforcement Agreement and Consideration of
Recommendations for Future Levels of Staffing
City Manager Johnson explained that he and Captain Judge had been working possible
ways to increase staffing. He detailed current crime statistics along with calls for service
and response time. He explained his recommended increase to the level of staffing for
the upcoming Fiscal Year by addition of three patrol deputies and one motor officer. He
presented power point headings that explained the cost and phasing in of those
positions. Committee members August and Denver asked questions and received
clarification about the presentation. The City Managed asked if he could move forward
with that consideration as he begins preparation and presentation of the upcoming
budget and Committee members agreed to that consideration for Council.
5. City Manager Comments
The next meeting of the Committee is scheduled for April 8, 2014 and will include a
review of the Emergency Operations Plan, and the May 13, 2014 meeting will include a
staffing update from Fire Department.

Chair Denver adjourned the meeting at 4 p.m.
