PUBLIC WORKS / ENGINEERING UPDATE:
1. Newport/Antelope and Antelope/Stillwater traffic signal modification and re -
striping on Antelope was completed on Oct. 19 night work. This work split
phasing north south at Newport/Antelope and created triple northbound lefts,
double southbound rights (with arrow), split phasing traffic signal operation
at Antelope/Stillwater, and a new southbound U-turn at Stillwater. Also
modified the signal coordination timing and have been monitoring.
2. WB left turn pocket on Newport at Haun was extended which increased the
storage.
3. Installed tuff curb with delineators on centerline of Menifee Road at Matthews
to prevent left turns to improve safety. Intersection had the highest accidents
last two years of all city non-signalized intersections.
4. Prepared traffic control plan for Veterans Day 5k.
5. Started construction of new sidewalk on Newport Road near Murrieta Road
and also on McCall west of Junipero.
6. Improved safety at Zeiders and Keller by installing signs and striping at
intersection.
7. Adjusted timing of signals on Scott Road near I-215 after the 55 hour shuffle.
8. Beginning design work for widening Scott Road between I-215 and Wildomar
to 4 lanes with turn lane and bike lanes. Design is expected to t ake
approximately 2 years.
9. Traffic signal and widening at intersection of Scott and Murrieta is expected
to be out to bid in March 2020.
10. Caltrans has started work on raised median on Hwy 74 in the City.
