PUBLIC WORKS / ENGINEERING UPDATE:
1. Newport/Antelope and Antelope/Stillwater traffic signal modification and re -
striping on Antelope tentatively scheduled for Oct. 19 night work. This plan
will split phasing north south at Newport/Antelope and will include triple
northbound lefts, double southbound rights (with arrow) and split phasing
traffic signal operation at Antelope/Stillwater.
2. Installed new striping on Camino Cristal to improve safety along curves.
3. All-way stop was installed at Lazy Creek/Oakbridge.
4. WB left turn pocket on Newport at Haun will be extended by contract striper
tentatively scheduled on Oct. 19. This should help improve safety issues that
citizens have been concerned with.
5. Installed No Stopping Zone on Town Center Drive south of La Piedra due to
safety issues with student drop-off and pick-up.
6. Reviewed traffic control plan for large construction project adjacent to EMWD
on Murrieta Road. Traffic lanes will be shifted during 2 months of
construction.
7. New red curb, signage, and striping were installed at Mesa View Elementary
School to improve safety. Staff met with Principal and School Administration
to address all their safety concerns.
8. Installed No Stopping and red curb at Boulder Ridge Elementary School after
meeting with Principal and School Administration to improve safety for kids
on Junipero.
9. Installed new school signage and speed limits on La Piedra near Santa Rosa
and Evans Ranch Schools.
10. Menifee Valley Middle School nighttime construction on Garbani to install
infrastructure in middle of street. Work may take up to 2 months.
11. Will be installing No Stopping Zone on east side of Menifee Road adjacent to
Freedom Crest Elementary School to help prevent vehicles from double
parking on Menifee Road.
12. Reviewed traffic issues surrounding the new Taawila Elementary School.
Staff will be scheduling a meeting with school district and will develop a plan
to address traffic safety issues.
13. New striping completed in Quail Valley neighborhoods after slurry project.
Crosswalks and school signage were enhanced and one-way streets were
enhanced with striping and new signs.
14. Menifee/Matthews turn restrictions to improve safety are being scheduled by
Public Works for installation this month.
15. Goetz/Audie Murphy South traffic signal modifications completed. Developer
to slurry Audie Murphy South and lane striping on east leg will be modified at
that time.
16. School zone on Newport between Bradley and Winterhawk will be installed
in next 4 weeks.
