The Committee Members approved the minutes unanimously (2-0) with no
changes.

6.1 Fire Department Monthly Report
Fire Battalion Chief Josh Bishcof provided the monthly Fire report and reported
on major incidents and events.
Committee Member Liesemeyer asked about the vacant Fire Marshall position.
Chief Bischof responded it had been filled by Sonya Bu.

6.2 Police Department Monthly Report
Police Lieutenant Scott Forbs provided the monthly statistics and cases of
interest. Lt. Forbs reported on various station activities and events for the month
of April.
6.3 Code Enforcement Department Monthly Report
Code Enforcement Officer Amber Kearney provided the monthly report for April.
Code Enforcement Manager Lionel Martinez discussed the Senior Officer
Recruitment for District 4.
Committee Chair August asked for updates on the Flood Control Channel.
Mr. Martinez responded we are still awaiting on a response from Riverside
County.
6.4 Animal Control Monthly Report
Animal Control Services- Animal Friends Of The Valley
Animal Control Officer J. Bratten, reported on the monthly statistics for the
month of April.
Committee Member Liesemeyer asked for an update on New Castle.
Officer J. Bratten stated the quarantines for sick birds continue and is
expected to last at least a couple of months.
Animal Sheltering Services- County of Riverside
Animal Sheltering Service Representative Ryan Long provided the
monthly report for April.
Committee Member Liesemeyer asked about the free spay and neuter
process.
Officer J. Bratten explained the process for the free spay and neuter.
Committee Chair August asked Economic Development Manager Gina Gonzalez to
introduce the new City Employee.
Ms. Gonzalez introduced the Economic Development Management Analyst Ben
Gallagher.
Assistant City Manager Jeff Wyman introduce Deputy City Manager Rochelle Clayton.

Ms. Ingram reported on SWAG (Social Worker Action Group) rehousing
numbers.
Committee Chair August asked if SWAG was showing improvement or adding
issues to the community.
Ms. Ingram responded SWAG was showing an improvement in the community.

School and Education Event Programs:
• Station 5 conducted a school program with a total of 20 contacts.
• Station 7 conducted a school program with a total of 25 contacts.
• Station 7 conducted an adult education program with a total of 4 contacts.
• Station 54 conducted a school program in the City with a total of 100 contacts.
• Station 76 conducted a school program with a total of 100 contacts.
Station Tours:
• Station 7 conducted 1 station tour that had a total of 15 public contacts.
• Station 68 conducted 1 station tour with a total of 100 public contacts.
• Station 76 conducted 4 station tours with a total of 65 public contacts.
Other Events:
• Engine 5 attended Quail Valley heath fair.
• Engine 5 attended the Senior Health Fair at the Kay Ceniceros Center. Firefighters provided side walk CPR training and
handed out the Vial of Life.
• Engine 76 participated in the Lake Day Event at the Lakes Community. Firefighters provided aide walk CPR training for
the attendees.
• Engine 7 and the Menifee Lakes Fire Explorers attended the Menifee youth fair.
• City Fire units conducted approximately 300 Defensible Space inspections in the very high fire aeverity area within
Menifee.

CAL FIRE Riverside County Firefighters responded to a report of a traffic collision with extrication at the intersection of
Newport Road and Menifee Road in the City of Menifee. The first arriving engine company found a two vehicle traffic
collision with major damage to both vehicles. Basic and Advance Life Support care was immediately rendered to the two
patients. Both of the patients required extrication to be removed from their vehicle. One patient with major injuries was
transported to a local area hospitals. One patient succumb to their injuries and was pronounced at the scene. There were
no reported firefighter injuries during the incident.

Interperative Programs for Schools
Park Rangers were able to reach over 250 Menifee youth with multiple enviromental education
programs, and school career days. Subject matter included Nocternal Animals, What Is a Habitat, Land
Sewrtship, Urban Animals, and How to Become a Park Ranger. The Park Ranger Interperative Program
is rapidly growing. Community Services has set up multiple Ranger Programs through out the summer to
continually foster the communities apprecation for our beautiful parks system.
Adopt‐a‐park/trail
On May 4th local Scouts Pack 2228 participated in Trash the Trash Day and assisted with
cleaning up trash from La Ladera park. The scouts were given a special thanks from the Park
Rangers and everyone recived an honorary Jr. Park Ranger badge for their demonstration of
service to thier community. We contiue to have our park and trail adoptees helping out at AMR
Sports Park as well as Paloma Wash Trail.
Riverside County Point in Time Count
The official Point in Time Count (PIT) numbers came in last month, and Menifee has seen a
reduction from 2018 to 2019! Additionally, we are the second lowest in the Region (tied with
Murrieta and trailing only Wildomar). We have also suceeded in reducing our reported chronic
homeless population in half from 2018. While the PIT numbers are only a small sampling of the
overall picture of homelessness these numbers help to reflct the ongoing sucess of the Menifee
Homeless Task Force and our partners.

Skate Park Operations
Social Worker Action Group (SWAG) continues working within the City of Menifee
every Thursday and Friday. Working jointly with the Crime Prevention Officer and Park
Rangers they are making contact with homeless in the city and assisting them with
getting vital documents, housing vouchers, medical assistance, shelter, etc. They
continue to case manage many of the chronically homeless in the area by seeking
innovative solutions to each individual’s needs.
