REGULAR MEETING (3:00 P.M)
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Greg August called the meeting to order at 3:11 p.m.
2. ROLL CALL
Present were: Committee Chair Greg August, Council Member Matt Leisemeyer,
Committee Secretary Roxana Elliott, Economic Development Management Analyst
Kayla Charters, Code Enforcement Officer Amber Kearney, Code Enforcement
Technician Andrea Montez, Senior Civil Traffic Engineer Carlos Geronimo, Community
Services Supervisor Jason Hendrix, Park Ranger Amanda Ingraham, Fire Captain Scott
Philippbar, Police Sergeant John Burke, Animal Control Officer J. Bratten, Pamela Gates

5. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
5.1 January 08, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes
The Committee Members approved the minutes unanimously (2-0) with no changes.
5.2 February 12, 2019 Regular Meeting Minutes
Approval of Meeting Minutes moved to April 09, 2019 Public Safety Meeting.
6. DISCUSSION ITEMS
6.1 Fire Department Monthly Report
Fire Captain Scott Philippbar provided monthly Fire report and reported on major
incidents and events.
Committee Member Matt Leisemeyer asked what the false fire alarms encompass.
Captain Philippbar responded it includes medical and fire calls.

Committee Chair August asked Captain Philippbar to introduce Fire Engine 7.
Captain Philippbar introduced Fire Engine 7.
6.2 Police Department Monthly Report
Police Sergeant John Burke provided the monthly stats and cases of interest. Sergeant
Burke reported on various station activities and events for the month of February.
Sergeant Burkes reported on press releases, theft, search warrants, and events.
6.3 Code Enforcement Department Monthly Report
Code Enforcement Officer Amber Kearney introduced the new Code Enforcement
Manager Lionel Martinez. Ms. Kearney provided the monthly report for February and
discussed preparation for weed abatements.
Mr. Leisemeyer asked about the increased amount of code violation activity during the
weekend.
Ms. Kearney reported weekends have been added to some Code Enforcement Officer’s
schedules to decrease activity.
Mr. Leisemeyer asked if the Code Enforcement team would have any markings on the
vehicles.
Code Enforcement Manager Lionel Martinez responded all City cars would be marked
with the same logo, but he was working on uniforms for the Code Enforcement team.
Assistant City Manager Jeff Wyman walked into the Public Safety Meeting at 3:27p.m.
6.4 Animal Control Monthly Report
Animal Control Services- Animal Friends Of The Valley
Animal Control Officer J. Bratten, reported on the monthly statistics for the
month of February.
Animal Sheltering Services- County of Riverside
Animal Sheltering Service employee Pamela Gates provided the monthly
report for February.
Police Lieutenant Scott Forbes walked into the Public Safety Meeting at 3:31p.m.

Senior Civil Traffic Engineer Carlos Geronimo provide the monthly report for
February.
6.6 Community Services Park Ranger Monthly Report
Park Ranger Amanda Ingram provided the Park Ranger monthly report for
February. Ms. Ranger reported on SWAG (Social Worker Action Group)
rehousing numbers.
Community Services Jason Hendrix supervisor discussed grants for homeless
community.
Mr. August asked how the community would receive contact information on
where citizens can call and report suspicious activity at local parks.
Ms. Ingram responded the Park Ranger’s Hotline is posted at all local parks.
Assistant City Manager Jeff Wyman discussed the presence of police officers
reducing the homeless numbers in the community.
6.7 School Districts Monthly Report
No representative form School Districts present.
