February 2019 Menifee Fire Marshal Report City of Menifee Office of the Fire Marshal Riverside County Fire Department OFM Statistics for the Period of January 1st thru January 31st, 2019 March 4, 2019 During the 18 available business days in February the personnel assigned to the Menifee Office of the Fire Marshal conducted 105 field inspections and completed 70 individual plan reviews. During this period staff attended 7 development related meetings, responded to 12 requests for counter assistance. These do not include responding to multiple requests for field inspection scheduling for projects in process. Plan review turn-around time is currently 9 days and inspections are averaging within 72 hours of requests. Development review of Planning case applications are in some cases currently 4 days ahead of due dates. Revenue collected for plan reviews, inspections and planning application reviews are as follows: Feb 1-2 $2,928.50 Feb 4-8 $3220.68 Feb 11-15 $5,411.64 Feb 18-22 $8,185.88 Feb 25-28 $14,576.72 Total Revenue $34,323.42 (February 2019) ** These numbers were provided by Building and Safety Division permit counter staff and come from the Acela Permit tracking program utilized for this purpose. Totals may not reflect any permit fees collected on the 28th end of business day. City of Menifee Office of the Fire Marshal Riverside County Fire Department OFM Statistics for the Period of January 1st thru January 31st, 2019 Riverside County Fire Assistant Fire Marshal (vacant). Currently the office is conducting inspections, planning cases, DRC, meetings and plan reviews by a Fire Safety Specialist and 1 inspector from the Riverside County OFM office. Several plan reviews included fire clearance for major projects including the Lennar at Town Center development, several new phases at Audie Murphy Ranch, KB Homes, and Richmond American. Kirkorian Theaters, Artesa Apartment complex and Club house, (2) Arco gas Stations, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Wellquest Living and Rancho Family Medical Center are all currently in the process of reviews and approvals. New Business such as Kahoots, Blaze Pizza,Coffee Bean, Waba Grill and Jamba Juice are all close to being finale. Newly Open businesses include Clever Fox Escape Rooms, Fire House Subs and Spectrum. Inspection for the Menifee Lake Plaza for businesses such as Tuesday Morning, Barons, Sapporo Sushi, and Schools First Credit Union continue to be work in progress. Plan reviews and inspections are still being conducted for the “New City Hall” and diligently working with the property owners, contractors and city officials for a much anticipated move and Beautiful City Hall. With the growing number of tract files, permit files and documentation related to development the office has outgrown the allotted space for files and plans. The City of Menifee currently has a temp office assistant working in the office helping with scheduling inspections, filing, answering phone and numerous fire duties. We obtained a Fire Permit Tech position and has recently been filled. The Fire Permit Tech will serve the counter, assist customers with fire related questions, take in fire plans, issue permits and will offer exceptional customer service to the new Fire counter. In between inspections, plan reviews, document retention, scheduling, billing, as well as required reports, Menifee staff has a full workload as do other divisions in this growing community. The Fire Marshal services provided locally continue to receive positive comments on service delivery and assistance to t he public and business community from customers, City staff and the Development community.
