In the report, you will see emergency activity which has occurred in the City of Menifee , in addition to the general business activity undertaken by the fire staff. 1. SIGNIFICANT INCIDENTS : • April 1, 2017 One engine responded to a traffic collision involving a 3-year-old hit by a vehicle. The patient was transported to a local area hospital. • April 10, 2017 One chief officer, two engines, and a truck responded to a traffic collision with extrication on Sherman Road and Blue Diamond. Two patients required extrication from the vehicl e and were transported to a local area hospitals. • April 12, 2017 Three engines responded to a ¼ acre vegetation fire on northbound I -215 and Ethanac Road. • April 16, 2017 One chief officer, two engines, and a truck responded to a traffic collision with ext rication on Mapes Road and Sherman Road. One patient required extrication from their vehicle. A total of 5 patients were transported to local area hospitals. • April 23, 2017 Two chief officers , six engines, two trucks, a breathing support, and the Hazmat team responded to a commercial structure fire in the 27000 block of Jackson Ave. The first arriving engine reported heavy smoke and fire from behind the auto repair facility. The fire was contained to two storage sheds, two vehicles , and a small amount of extension into a commercial building. The fire also damaged a 250 gallon tank of used waste fluids that spilled onto the roadway. The Riverside County Fire Department Hazmat team along with Riverside County Environmental Health coordinated with Menifee City Public works and Menifee City Code Enforcement to contain and mitigate the incident. STATION ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS: School and Education Event Programs: • Station 7 conducted 1 school program and 8 adult education programs that included a total of 72 co ntacts. Station Tours: • Station 7 conducted 2 station tours and had a total of 8 public contacts. • Station 68 conducted 1 station tour and had a total of 20 public contacts. Other Events: • Engine 76 attended a Cub Scout Presentation. • Engine 5 and Engine 76 attended the Spring Festival at La Ladera Park. • Engine 5 conducted a community CPR Class. • Engine 5 attended the Community Beautification event. • Engine 7 and Engine 76 attended the Community Hope Day Easter picnic. • Engine 5 attended the Quail Valley Community Fair. • Engine 76 attended a Health Fair at the Marion V. Ashley Community Center. 4. TRAINING: • Week of April 3rd companies conducted Wildland fire training and gear inspection. • Week of April 10th companies conducted mobile pumping training. • Week of April 17th companies conducted Basic Firing training. • Week of April 24th companies conducted Wildland Urban Interface / Structure Defense training.
