Minutes
1. Call to order and roll call
Chairman Matt Liesemeyer called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m.
Present were: Chairman Matt Liesemeyer, Committee Member Greg August, City Manager
Armando Villa, Assistant City Manager Jeff Wyman, Public Works Director Jonathan Smith,
Records Technician Roxana Elliott, Economic Development Manager Gina Gonzalez, Building
Official Colin McNie, Code Enforcement Officer Amber Kearney, Office Specialist Andrea
Montez, Community Services Director Jonathan Nicks, Community Services Supervisor Jason
Hendrix, Police Lieutenant Scott Forbes, Police Sergeant John Burke, Animal Control Officer Mo
Middleton, Animal Friends of the Valley representative Ryan Long
2. Public Comments
Committee Chair Liesemeyer called for public comments and there was none.
3. Minutes –
The October 9, 2018 minutes were approved unanimously.
4. Fire Department Monthly Report
Fire was not present.
5. Police Department Monthly Report
Police Sergeant John Burke provided the monthly stats and cases of interest. Sergeant
Burke reported on various station activities and events for the month of October.
Committee Member Liesemeyer asked about the Auidie Murphy case. Sergeant Burk
responded the suspect was found and in custody with 3 felony robberies.
6. Code Enforcement Monthly Report
Building Official McNie provided the monthly report for October. Mr. McNie reported on
updating the public nuisance ordinance and updating the codes. He also spoke on
pursuing and administrative citation increase.
Committee Member Leisemeyer asked about what the dirt, trash, and debris reports
consist of. Mr. McNie responded the reports were in reference to the developer signs
and illegal dumping.
7. Animal Control Monthly Report
a. Animal Control Services – Animal Friends of the Valleys (AFV)
Officer Mo Middleton reported on the monthly statistics for the month of October.
Ms. Middleton reported on severe dog bite incidents.
b. Animal Sheltering Services – County or Riverside
County of Riverside Representative Ryan Long provided the statistics noting the
number of strays, adoptions, and live releases for the month of October. Mr.
Long reported on the upcoming programs.
8. Public Works/Engineering Monthly Report
Public Works Director Jonathan Smith provided the monthly report and provided
information on future projects.
9. Community Services Park Ranger Monthly Report
Community Services Supervisor Jason Hendrix provided the Park Ranger monthly report
for October. Mr. Hendrix reported on skate park closure, the park ranger hotline, and the
swag team.
Committee Member Leismeyer asked if the City would be able to allow a bicycle day two
days a week. Mr. Hendrix responded the Ordinance stating no bicycles were allowed in the
skate park would have to be amended
10. School District Monthly Reports
School District was not present.
11. City Manager Comments
City Manager Armando Villa entered the meeting at 3:34PM. Mr. Villa asked about the
Code Enforcement recruitments. Mr. McNie provided updates on the Code Enforcement
recruitments.
