PUBLIC WORKS / ENGINEERING UPDATE:
1. SIGNAL / TRAFFIC OPERATIONS
a) Flashing Stop Signs to be installed this month at McCall/Gross Point and
Chambers/Gross Point
b) All-way stops installed at Holland/Mountain Cliff, Murphy Ranch/Rustlers, and
Normandy/LaLadera with plans to install one at Oakbridge/Lazy Creek
c) I-215 and Scott Road traffic signal coordination plan being developed
d) 2 signals under construction – Zieders/Commerce Point and La Piedra/Sherman
e) Numerous traffic signals funded by development in design phase being reviewed
by staff
f) Median construction underway on Newport/Menifee with 3 EB thru lanes on
Newport planned
g) Highway 74 median project by Caltrans being reviewed by City
h) SSARP Study underway with presentation to Committee next month
i) Newport/Winterhawk Signal Modification
j) Salt Creek Pedestrian/Bike Traffic Signal Plans Finalized
k) Reviewed River Springs Traffic Flow
l) Briggs paving near Matthews and detour planned for this summer
m) Haun Road median and new traffic signal plans near complete
2. LANE STRIPING
a) Striped and opened La Piedra
b) Great Oak in Menifee Town Center
c) Developing plan to stripe left turn pockets on Holland at Sherman
3. SPEED RADAR TRAILERS
a) Deployed Speed Trailers on:
Loire Valley Lane
Lacosse Street
Alta Vista
b) Held quarterly meeting with Sheriff to address various topics including enforcement
issues
c) Posted La Piedra 35 mph
d) Posted construction zone on Goetz at 35 mph and Sheriff wrote a lot of tickets
