PUBLIC WORKS / ENGINEERING UPDATE:
1. SIGNAL / STOP OPERATIONS
a) Flashing Stop Signs Ordered for McCall/Gross Point and Chambers/Gross Point
b) Work order for installation of all-way stops at Holland/Mountain Cliff, Murphy
Ranch/Rustlers, and Oakbridge/Lazy Creek
c) Developed and implemented weekend traffic signal coordination plans for
Haun/Village connected to Newport/Haun and I-215 signals
d) Coordinated with Caltrans and working to develop traffic signal coordination plans
for I-215 and McCall corridor
e) I-215 and Scott Road traffic signal coordination plan being developed
f) Implemented cellular communications to traffic signals on Newport Road
between Antelope and Haun, including one CCTV camera at Newport/Haun
g) 2 signals under construction – Zieders/Commerce Point and La Piedra/Sherman
h) Numerous traffic signals funded by development in design phase being reviewed
by staff
i) Traffic signal meter box addresses upgrade to be visible from street
2. LANE STRIPING
a) Striped and opened La Piedra
b) Mapes Road and Briggs Road new raised pavement markers installed
c) Developing plan to stripe left turn pockets on Holland at Sherman
3. SPEED RADAR TRAILERS
a) Deployed Speed Trailers on:
Avenida de Cortez
McCall
Encanto NB s/o La Prada
Antelope NB across from 27803
Rio Vista
b) Sheriff/PW have scheduled quarterly coordination meetings to address various
topics including enforcement issues
c) Conducted new speed survey on new section of La Piedra and will post it at 35 mph
