CS 2018 Park Rangers/ / / / / / Aside from the daily patrols, outreach, and enforcement duties the Park Rangers have been working on numerous projects. Cynthia Terrell has been working in the community getting sponsors and volunteers for the City’s Menifee Better Together Event coming up in April. So far she has received a sponsorship from our local restaurant Pitstop Bar and Grill. She has also been passing out flyers to all the elementary and high schools in the city, getting the word out to families. Brandon has been working on getting possible locations for new trails in the city. He has found an area off of Domenigoni Parkway and Briggs Road that includes flat land and hills for hiking and bike riding. He has also located an area off of Matthews Road between Menifee Road and Briggs Road. In addition, Brandon has reached out to Bill Zimmerman with the Menifee Valley Historical Association for insight on an idea to create a Native American Heritage site at Audie Murphy Ranch Sports Park where interpretive sessions can be held by the Park Rangers. The Park Rangers are also working on getting interpretive sessions going with the community. Their first one will take place on the new trail located near the new Silver Star Park opening on April 21st in the Audie Murphy Ranch Community. Park Rangers will begin monthly coordination meetings with Code Enforcement beginning in April. Park Rangers have begun utilizing the GoEnforce software to report new homeless encampments and assist in coordinating a response from Code Enforcement Officers. Two new encampments were reported in March. With the assistance of Code Enforcement relevant MMC violations for Title 13 (Parks & Recreation) and Chapter 11.08 (Solicitations) have been entered into GoEnforce. Park Rangers are transitioning away from a position of verbal warnings and will be utilizing written warnings and administrative citations which will be tracked using GoEnforce starting in April.
