PUBLIC WORKS / ENGINEERING UPDATE (Since December 12, 2017):
I. SIGNAL OPERATIONS
a) Diagnosed and repaired 4 signal malfunctions:
• Murrieta / Cherry Hill (on flash)
• Antelope / Newport (bike lane detection not working)
• Simpson / Lindenberger (overhead light out)
• Bradley / School Park (advance waring flasher not working)
b) Re -timed Traffic Signal near Southshore Elementary
• Holland Road and Southshore Drive
2. LANE STRIPING
a) Staff is finalizing workorders with Striping contractor for lane restriping of
centerlines, edge lines, and installing raised pavement markers
3. STREET SIGNAGE
a) Replaced and installed with 216 new Traffic Street Signs along 24 street segments
b) Ordered 282 new traffic street signs for replacement and waiting for vendor
delivery;
c) Conducted inventory of 625 unnecessary traffic signs along 35 arterials
d) Conducted inventory of streets with no posted speed limits signs
4. SCHOOLS
a) Staff reviewed Traffic flow patterns at school sites during AM drop off and PM pick
up times for:
• Harvest Valley Elementary
• Chase Middle School
b) Identified 9 schools for Police Traffic Enforcement deployment
5. SPEED RADAR TRAILERS
a) Deployed Speed Trailers on:
• Talley Road
• Tupelo Road
• Wagon Creek Lane
• Spring Creek Way
• Cannon Drive
• Stillwater Drive
b) Reported 4 Police Traffic Enforcement issues for follow-up/monitoring
6. MISCELLANOUS
a) Revised Contractor Traffic Control detour to relieve traffic congestion at Goetz Road
and Canyon Lake Drive North
b) Holland / Southshore Sidewalk started on 1/5/16 completed @ 180 LF of 740 LF of
new sidewalk. no- W
