A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE,
CALIFORNIA ADDING A MEASURE TO THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 2, 2010, TO PLACE ON THE
BALLOT A MEASURE REGARDING AT-LARGE ELECTION
OF ALL CITY COUNCILMEMBERS
WHEREAS, the City Council has called the first general municipal election for Tuesday,
November 2, 2010, consolidated that election with the statewide election on that date,
and has requested that the Registrar of Voters conduct the election for the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has placed several measures on the ballot for that general
municipal election; and
WHEREAS, the City now has determined to place an additional measure on the ballot
which provides the ability for voters to vote "yes' or "no" for at-large election of all five
City Councilmembers.
WHEREAS, the City Council requests the Registrar of Voters, County of Riverside, to
conduct the regular general municipal election and to include in that election
consideration of the at-large election of all five City Councilmembers.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE, CALIFORNIA,
RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. As allow by Elections Code Sections 9201 et seq and other relevant
provisions of state law, the City Council places on the ballot a measure which shall read
as follows:

Menifee be elected at large?
NO
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk is directed to forward without delay to the County Registrar of Voters, a
certified copy of this Resolution.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it
into the book of original Resolutions.

TO BE SUBMITTED DIRECTLY TO THE VOTERS
The City Council for the City of Menifee submits the initiative measure to the voters of
the City for approval and enactment:
ORDINANCE No. 10-xx
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE,
CALIFORNIA RELATING TO ELECTION OF
MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL "AT LARGE"
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. ELECTION "BY DISTRICTS" NO LONGER EFFECTIVE.
Resolution No. 09-109 adopting the five councilmanic districts set forth on the
National Demographic Consultants 4 plan is no longer valid or in effect.
SECTION 2. City Elections.
Members of the City Council shall be elected from the community at large without
regard to their geographical residence within the City.
SECTION 3. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect according to law ten days after certification of the
election at which it is adopted.
