2010-88 Council Term Limits ORDINANCE NO. 2010-88 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE PROVIDING FOR CITY COUNCIL TERM LIMITS WHEREAS, an initiative petition was submitted, qualified for the ballot, and voted upon by the voters of the City of Menifee in the November 2, 2010 General Municipal Election; and WHEREAS, the voters of the City of Menifee passed the proposed measure by a majority vote at the November 2, 2010 General Municipal Election; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE, CALIFORNIA, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Purpose and Intent Any person who has served two successive terms or eight consecutive years as a Councilmember shall be ineligible to serve again in that office until an intervening period of two years has elapsed. Any person who serves as a councilmember for two or more years of an appointed or elected term shall be considered to have served a term. Terms existing prior to this measure taking effect shall not be counted in determining eligibility.
