2008-10 Change of Zone witin the City ORDINANCE NO. 2008-10
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MENIFEE AMENDING COUNTY LAND USE ORDINANCE
NO. 348 (AS ADOPTED BY THE CITY UPON INCORPORATION) TO PROVIDE FOR A
CHANGE OF ZONE WITHIN THE CITY
The City Council of the City of Menifee finds as follows:
A. The City incorporated on October 1, 2008, and as required by state law,
pursuant to its Ordinance No. 2008-01, and urgency ordinance, adopted all
County ordinances, including Ordinance No. 348, the Land Use Ordinance,
effective on October 1, 2008 for a minimum period of 120 days.
B. The County now has processed a change to certain zoning within the City
which requires an amendment to Ordinance No. 348.
C. The County has requested that the City also adopt such an amendment to
confirm City approval of the change and so that Ordinance No. 348 remains
consistent at this time.
D. The effect of this change is to allow increased housing density in this zoning
area.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Menifee does ordain as follows:
1. Section 4 of County Ordinance No. 348 and official Zoning Map No 46, which
cover the Sun City District, are hereby are amended to change the existing
zoning classification for this parcel from One-Family Dwelling (R-1) to
General Residential (R-3) as of the effective date of this ordinance.
2. Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective 30 days from the date of its
adoption.
3. The City Clerk shall post this ordinance as provided by law.
